The July 2018 installment of Wavelength’s year-round Monthly Music Series, presented in association with Burn Down the Capital and the Goethe-Institut Toronto, will feature a rare appearance by faUSt – featuring founding members Werner “Zappi” Diermaier and Jean-Hervé Péron – who are touring North America in support of their 13th album, 2017’s Fresh Air. Never content to pander to nostalgia or their cult status, faUSt remains committed to weirdness and mischief. Their recent shows have included everything from a cement mixer to a quarter of knitters on stage. Who knows what will happen when they play the Jam Factory on July 15?
Ever influential, faUSt and the “Krautrock” or kosmische Musik (“cosmic music”) continues to inspire new generations of independently-minded musicians. The July 15 Wavelength concert will feature local support by Toronto’s Castle If a.k.a. electronic composer and analog synth performer, Jess Forrest. Castle If’s 2017 album Plant Music received some serious blog buzz.
