Three years after Pantayo welded kulintang to pop and R&B tunes on their Polaris Music Prize-shortlisted self-titled debut album, the Toronto quintet (including Wavelength’s very own Managing Director Kat Estacio) are at it again on their sophomore album, Ang Pagdaloy, out June 9 via Telephone Explosion Records. But this time, they’re adding metal, country and rock to the mix, broadening their already-kaleidoscopic expression of their experiences as queer diasporic Filipinas. Celebrate the new release — not to mention Pride and Filipino Heritage Monthby sweating your heart out at Sari Not Sari, the Filipino-owned event space inspired by the sights and sounds of Manila’s Poblacion district, in the former location of The Shop under Parts & Labour.

Opening up the evening will be a special set by Gossip Girl star Jordan Alexander, who will be debuting tropical house project MND3GMA (a collab with DJ Sakina Garcia, pronounced “man-di-rig-ma”), and performing some of her solo pop material. You’ll be among the first to experience MND3GMA’s Tagalog-language debut single “Tayong Dalawa” live, following its release on June 2, but certainly not the last. Get there early, in more ways than one.
