In 2015, with a programming arc of “Past, Present and Future,” #WL15 Festival highlights included a showcase celebrating Wavelength’s past at its long-time former home Sneaky Dee’s with Canadian punk legend Art Bergmann, reunion shows by controller.controller and Brides, and special tribute sets of classic Wavelength/Toronto songs played by today’s indie stars; a Valentine’s Day party with the best of the music scene’s present at unique alternative space the Polish Combatants Hall headlined by buzzy Arts & Crafts up-and-comer Lowell plus a record-release performance by Del Bel; and a triumphant finish looking towards the future with Montreal avant-disco-pop queen Mozart’s Sister and Wavelength Incubator artists Fresh Snow. Daytime talks took place at the Wavelength Pop-Up Gallery, a temporary space on College Street that also hosted an art exhibition featuring archival posters, concert photography, and commissioned installations by Derek Ma and Alexandra MacKenzie.
