Thursday September 17 at The Garrison (1197 Dundas Street West), Wavelength proudly presents one of three 50th Anniversary Concerts for The Nihilist Spasm Band, the “world’s first noise band,” that formed in London, Ontario in 1965 playing store-bought kazoos. For these concerts, also taking place in Guelph and London, the NSB reuinites with past guest recording artist and stage-mate, improv jazz brass man Joe McPhee, of Poughkeepsie, NY.
This show connects to the NSB to the next generation of noise-rock artists in Toronto, with the bill rounded out by sludge-punks HSY (Buzz Records) and the return of the enigma that is The Dead Are Those Who Have Died.
Presented in collaboration with Kazoo! Guelph and the Museum of London.
