Wavelength goes on a Hamilton roadtrip!
For the February 2023 edition of its monthly music series, Wavelength travels to Hamilton to present a free show with two of Ontario’s buzziest indie bands, within the walls of Collective Arts’ brewery and beer hall. #HamOnt has always had a tight-knit, community-oriented music scene, and it’s bouncing back from the pandemic with renewed creative energy.
February 25’s collab between Wavelength and CA features an exciting double bill of hometown heroes and Indie88-approved trio Ellevator — featuring the stunning vocals of frontwoman Nabi Sue Bersche —alongside “Indigenous futurist” indie-rock supergroup Ombiigizi, featuring members of Zoon and Status Non Status. Meaning “this is noisy” in the Anishinaabemowin language, Ombiigizi (om-BEE-ga-ZAY)’s Arts & Crafts debut Sewn Back Together was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize, topped many Canadian album-of-the-year lists in 2022, and was just nominated for the Alternative Album of the Year at the Juno Awards.
Tickets are free and admission is open to All Ages. See you in the Hammer!
