Wavelength presents Montreal’s Bibi Club, on tour in support of their latest album, Feu de garde, a record whoseflames bring light, comfort and life. The duo formed by Adèle Trottier-Rivard and Nicolas Basque explore emotional and physical territories, overcoming obstacles with intense, raw yet benevolent radicalism.

Highly recommended for fans of ‘90s/’00s bands like Stereolab and Broadcast on Feu de garde, Bibi Club push back the boundaries of genres and let their creativity run free, filling the air with relentless rhythms. On stage, Adèle grabs percussion instruments while in the crowd, bodies move and dance the night away.

Bibi Club will be supported by Toronto’s very own Tiger Balme. This collective of Asian-identifying female and non-binary musicians take influence from disco, indie, math rock, and ’90s acoustic pop through the grounding forces of drums, guitar, and bass, while vibraphone, harp, and harmonies shimmer above. Their 2022 self-titled album is an embrace of the wounds that shape us and the connection that heals us.

The evening will start with Wavelength staple Geordie Gordon, who first appeared at a Wavelength event with the Barmitzvah Brothers back in 2003. A touring member of U.S. Girls and Islands, Gordon has played as a sideman to Andy Shauf. His second solo album, Tambourine (2023) is a folk-tinged personal narrative about teenage awakenings to the wisdom of elders, with a nod to the Hidden Cameras. The album introduces the world to Geordie Gordon’s depth of talent as a singer, arranger, lyricist and melodicist.
