Merival (Anna Horvath) is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto, ON. She writes thoughtful songs shaped by relationships and reflection, finding beauty and transformation in heartache. Her ear for harmony and spare instrumentation informs her exploration of what it means to process complicated emotions, whether during an ongoing situation or through the lens of nostalgia after the fact. In this way, she affords the listener a quiet moment to sit with their own experiences and perhaps find a deeper understanding.
Her debut EP, Lovers, was released in January 2016, followed by two tours that took her across Canada. Her past projects include the bands First Rate People and beau, and a handful of collaborations with such artists as Swim Good, Izzard of Soda Island, and LUM.
