Jef E. Barbara’s Black Space

Jef Elise Barbara is Montreal’s R&B/electro/funk superstar. Recently coming out as transgender, Jef is back on the scene after two years off with brand new songs and a band line-up centred on the theme of blackness and the rejection of racialized tropes within white spaces. Aptly dubbed “Jef E. Barbara’s Black Space,” the performance includes a band made of fellow Montrealers of African descent.
