Since 2014, Ice Cream’s minimal, machine-inflected “molecular pop” has been sending icy pulses through Toronto’s underground. Through the meticulous manipulation of Moog synthesizers, bass guitars, and various boombox-inflated drum machines, their debut long-play, Love, Ice Cream finds the duo melting down their acidic brand of oblique funk to its bare essentials. Their sound is matched by a uniquely intense live show that beckons the audience while remaining cooly detached.
