The Montreal-based Swedish vocalist and composer Erika Angell embodies a profound love for art and music, driving her to relentlessly push creative boundaries and champion originality in the arts. With two decades in the alternative and avant-garde music scene and sixteen independently produced albums across diverse projects, Angell unveiled her solo debut album in March, 2024 on Constellation. Known for her unconventional artistry with the Polaris-nominated band Thus Owls, Angell’s impact spans earlier projects like the Swedish vocal-bass duo Josef & Erika, the electronic noise group The Moth, and more recently the New Music trio Beatings Are in the Body. She has toured the world extensively in support of her primary projects and her distinctive and virtuosic voice has graced recordings and live performances with a wide spectrum of artists, including Loney Dear, Patrick Watson, Leonard Cohen, Kim Myhr, Anders Jormin, Land Of Kush, Wildbirds and Peacedrums, La Force and The Besnard Lakes to name just a few.
