Away Forward is a dream pop shoegaze quartet from Toronto. The idea of forming this new band was conceived while the members attended a Swirlies show in 2016. Away Forwards sound is inspired by their love of all things dream like, reverb, delay, fuzz, layers, melody. The band consists of lead vocalist Lisa Nighswander, bassist Greg Chambers, guitarist/lyricist Andrew McAllister, and drummer Paul Boddum. They originally met back in 1994 when their former groups Mean Red Spiders and Neck gigged and shared a rehearsal space together at the dawning of Toronto’s soon-to-be-internationally recognized indie scene. The band recorded the album in one day in a theatre inside a historic building in Toronto, engineered by guitarist Andrew McAllister and produced by bassist Greg Chambers.
