Alex Nicol

Alex Nicol is a folk singer/songwriter based in Montreal. In 2022, Nicol went viral on TikTok, amassing over 1.2 million views of him performing his original song “Bridge Back To Me”. In the fall of 2022, Nicol supported The House of Love (Creation Records) on their 30th Anniversary Tour across North America, playing rooms like The Regent in Los Angeles and the Gramercy Theater in New York.

In 2023, Nicol released Been A Long Year Vol. 1 and 2. Press included an in-person interview and live performance with John Kennedy on Radio X in London, a live in-session performance and German-language interview on Radio Eins in Berlin, and a Talkhouse with Guy Chadwick of The House of Love, and CBC radio airplay. Been A Long Year Vol. 1 and 2 has over 1.6 million streams and received editorial support on Folk & Friends, Renegades, Indie All Stars, Folk Favorites, Indie Favorites, indie pop & chill, Montreal Chill, Radar Canada, and Cafe Montrealais.

In 2024, Nicol released an acoustic version of “Bridge Back To Me” and it amassed over 70,000 Spotify streams in the first month. He also announced festival performances at L’Appel (opening for Half Moon Run), Mariposa, Riverfest, and Montreal Jazz Fest. In the fall of 2024, Nicol supported The House of Love in France and Spain.
