Wavelength Presents:
PETRA GLYNT (Toronto) – 12:30pm
Scintillant, chromatic thunder-pop, ordered forth by the inimitable Alex MacKenzie. Like a cement mixer full of sparkles, sequins and rhinestones dumped onto the dance floor. An arabesque jumble of socially concious gravitas and weirdo electronic fun. Let the floor tom guide your cardial rhythm.
JOOJ
feat. SOOK-YIN LEE & ADAM LITOVITZ
(Toronto) – 11:30pm
Art pop distilled from the juice of plastic fruit. Sharp-edged nuance, swelling oddity and tangled tinkerings. Fomented minimalism, measured carefully to be recipied. Unearth the gurgling burbles that trundle beneath the visible planes.
MAICAMIA
(Montreal) – 10:30pm
Vision out of focus, grey skies drifting over pale landscapes. Slow, woeful destroyers sung to those of knitted brow and knotted chest. Guitar-dug graves filled with gravel. Shattered doom washed in vulnerability, swaddled in briar.
ANIMALIA (Toronto / Tasmania) – 9:30pm
Avant-pop a la Bat For Lashes et Bjork, crumpled up and reshaped. Heavy electronics and sparkling synthesizers jut and swerve around angular roots. Evocative and emotive compositions, woven with strong hands.
+ Pursuit Grooves (DJ set)
