As we get closer to Winter Fest 2025, Wavelength continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary by highlighting the artists and grassroots music community that have supported Wavelength throughout the years.

Swoony dream-pop band Tallies will be playing Night 2 of this year’s Winter Fest, along with Ducks Ltd, Priors, Alex Nicol, among others. Before their upcoming performance at St. Anne’s Parish Hall, we briefly chatted with them about Wavelength’s 25th anniversary and what it means to them.

WL:  In three words, can you describe the Wavelength experience to someone who’s never been to a show ?

Unique, engaging, colourful.

WL: How has playing at Wavelength helped you connect with other artists in the community ?

By sharing the presence of not only an assortment of musicians, but also visual artists that we may have never crossed paths with.

WL: What is a ritual or a must-have drink/snack you need before you play a show ?

Hummus and pita. Whenever it’s provided, we’re very happy about it. Sometimes tequila.

WL: Wavelength has been putting on shows for 25 years. What does the organization’s history mean to you as an artist ? How does it feel to be a part of that history ?

Supporting art and bringing people together for a quarter of a century is a wild accomplishment, it feels special to be a part of it.

WL: If you could curate your dream Wavelength lineup who would play it and why ?

The Sundays, Garbage, and Todd Rundgren

Tallies plays with Montreal indie folk crooner Alex Nicol and jangly indie pop crew Ducks LTD upstairs on Night 2 of Wavelength Winter Festival at St. Anne’s Parish.

Downstairs features music from garage punk outlaws Priors, new wave tinged indie-pop project Essie Watts, and the return of Controller.Controller, a band whose infectious dance-punk sound left a mark on the 2000s.

All-vinyl DJ sets from the always amazing SadStab.
