For the May installment of its ongoing Monthly Music Series, Wavelength returns to Parkdale DIY bike workspace Bike Pirates for an all ages show. May 26 will be a diverse night of independent sounds, in a very unique concert venue: volunteer-run, do-it-yourself BIKE SHOP!
Known for its thoughtful curation and championing of emerging musical artists across Canada, May 2018’s Monthly Wavelength show will feature four Ontario artists from across a wide variety of genres: Peterborough’s Lonely Parade, who headline the night, are a math/grunge noise-rock trio who have just signed to Buzz Records (also home of Weaves, Casper Skulls, Dilly Dally); Just John is a Scarborough/Toronto Afrobeat-inspired hip-hop artist and also the curator of DIY art space Blank Canvas Gallery; Joncro is an upstart Mississauga lo-fi indie-punk trio; and a mysterious free-jazz improvising ensemble, Formerly Known as Pardons, makes their debut.
