While ROM After Dark transforms the entire building into a late-night party, Wavelength will provide an oasis of calm in the Philosopher’s Gallery to preview the upcoming album by Zoon, the acclaimed moccasin-gaze project helmed by our Artistic Associate Daniel Monkman.

The three years since Zoon’s propulsive ‘Bleached Wavves’ has found Daniel expanding their kaleidoscopic shoegaze in many new directions, like the folk and hip-hop collabs on 2022 EP ‘Big Pharma’ or putting a fresh stamp on rock history with JUNO-nominated band Ombiigizi. Now, they’re taking their music in a more cinematic direction, like the string-laden arrangements of Zoon’s forthcoming sophomore album ‘Bekka Ma’iingan’ and score for David Suzuki’s new documentary ‘War for the Woods.’ For this performance, Monkman will be joined by a string section.

Stay tuned for information on the night’s other performances. Be sure to arrive early for a listening party of Zoon’s ‘Bekka Ma’iingan’ (due April 28 via Paper Bag Records), so you can get to know the songs they’ll be playing a few hours later.
